Children’s
Therapy
Play is for everyone which is why we are raising money to remove any barriers children with acute and long-term conditions may face.
Help us transform a derelict garden into a safe, sensory-rich space for children with additional needs.
Hydrotherapy, trampoline sessions and a sensory room are just some of the ways our children’s therapy team support those with additional needs through illness, premature birth, complex physical disability and life-limiting conditions.
Thanks to your support, the sensory room at Neath Port Talbot Hospital’s Children’s Centre has been fully refurbished! However, our mission doesn’t stop there. We’re now raising funds for the Children’s Centre to transform the Children’s Therapy Garden outside, which is currently overgrown, unsafe, and unusable due to broken fixtures and pest problems.
With your help, we can create a safe, accessible, and sensory-rich outdoor space for children with additional needs to play, explore, and thrive, while also supporting the team’s wider work.
The team is made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and they work alongside paediatricians and health visitors.
They provide therapy interventions, parent and child groups and bespoke therapy sessions to help children develop skills, interact, learn and play.
They also provide specialist equipment to help parents care for their child at home and support children to be able to play alongside their friends in school.
The sensory garden the next chapter in transforming the Neath Port Talbot Hospital Children’s Centre.
