Jiffy’s Cancer 50 Challenge
Welsh rugby legend Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies leads an annual 50-mile bike ride from Cardiff to Swansea in August.
The money raised is shared between the South West Wales Cancer Centre at Singleton Hospital and Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff.
Hundreds of cyclists were once again riding high after completing this year’s Jiffy’s bike ride to raise funds for cancer services in Swansea and Cardiff.
More than 340 riders saddled up for the annual Jiffy Cancer 50 Challenge raising more than £40,000 (and rising) for Swansea Bay Health Charity, in support of the South West Wales Cancer Centre, at Singleton Hospital, and Velindre Hospital Charity. They tackled the challenging 50 mile route from Cardiff City Stadium to Swansea’s Bracelet Bay.
Led by Welsh rugby icon Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies, Sunday’s ride was the fourth year this amazing event has taken place and fundraising in total has now smashed the £250,000 barrier.
In 2024, over 300 cyclists took part in Jiffy’s third annual challenge – the largest number so far – raising a total of £40,000

“This event, and the charities it supports, are very close to my heart. We had people on the ride who are currently having cancer treatment.
On the darkest of days, days like this need to be celebrated.”
Sarah Gwynne, consultant clinical oncologist at the South West
Wales Cancer Centre, said:
“We could not do this work without your support and are very grateful.”
The riders have a one-of-a-kind police escort through mumbles, finishing at Bracelet Bay.
