Fantastic Fundraising: December

Abbey Coburn’s TikTok Party at Au Vodka
Local TikTok creator Abbey Coburn and local business, Au Vodka, hosted the Christmas Content Creator Party for Welsh influencers, described by many as “the party of the year”. But this wasn’t just a celebration, it was Abbey’s way of giving back to the ward that saved her daughter’s life.
Abbey’s daughter was born 14 weeks early during lockdown, and Singleton NICU became her family’s lifeline.
“NICU quite literally saved her life,” Abbey shared. “We owe you all more than words can ever cover, and giving back in this way feels like the very least we can do.”
With Charity Ambassadors, Joel Oates and Clare Cerasuolo in attendance, plus many other Welsh content creators such as Rhys Doing Things, the night buzzed with laughter, content-making and Welsh community spirit. Between filming TikToks, guests took part in raffles and fundraising activities, raising an impressive £1,300, donated in full to Swansea Bay Health Charity for Singleton NICU.
Local Impact for Cwtsh Natur
Lead Occupational Therapist, Sian Thomas, says:
On Christmas Eve, the Paediatric Occupational Therapy team brought festive cheer to the community with a bucket collection at Morrisons Baglan on 23rd December within their own time. The team, dressed in bright red Christmas tunics, raised £239.32 for the Cwtsh Natur appeal, which supports local Neath Port Talbot children with additional needs.
“Running the appeal in a supermarket so local to the centre helps us raise awareness of what we are looking to do for the local community of children and young people with additional needs creating a safe accessible outdoor space”.
“Morrisons have been amazing, offering their community room for our parent sensory group free of charge, and we’re happy to be able to bring the festive spirit to local shoppers”.
Alongside the bucket collection, shoppers had the opportunity to purchase charity sponsored calendars created by TikTok influencer, Joel Oates, and local photographer Laura Carys. These calendars are a fun way that our ambassador, Joel is fundraising for the Children’s Centre, which he is extremely familiar with having used their services himself as a child.
The calendar features images of Joel dressed up in costumes and showing off his magnetic personality in each monthly page. The charity calendars are available to purchase throughout December and January. You can find more details here.
Flynn’s Deli Spreads Festive Cheer

Flynn’s Deli kicked off the season of giving with their heart-warming Father Christmas Event, raising an incredible £250 in support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Singleton Hospital, who cared for his son. Chris Flynn says: “Our son spent time on NICU when he was born, so we’ve seen firsthand the great work they do”. The total included £170 in kind donations, generously topped up by the Flynn’s Deli team to make an even bigger impact for families spending Christmas in hospital.
The Flynn’s Deli team shared why the appeal meant so much to them:
“We take a moment to count our blessings and think of those who won’t be at home for Christmas this year. Thanks to all the work they do making babies and parents comfortable, especially at this time of year.”
Their kindness will help ensure babies and parents in NICU feel supported during one of the most challenging times of their lives.
Will’s Charity Bingo Night

Will Thomas recently hosted a successful bingo night at Trebanos Rugby Club on 5th December, raising an impressive £400 for Swansea Bay Health Charity’s Going the Extra Mile for Cancer appeal. Despite particularly bad weather on the night, the event brought the local community together for an evening of fun, games and prizes, helping to boost Will’s fundraising total following his Everest Base Camp challenge.
“We had a really fun night, and Steve Card was a wonderfully comical bingo caller –usually at my expense – he truly made the evening,” Will said.
Will sends thanks to everyone who came along to support the event, with special thanks to Steve Card, the team at Bar Trebanos, and Tesco Pontardawe, who kindly donated mince pies and additional prizes. Many families attended, and children received a selection box to sweeten the occasion. Will added his heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported his fundraising throughout the year, including the many individuals and businesses who generously donated prizes across his events.
We would like to say a special thank you to each and every one of the people who fundraised, donated and supported us throughout December and prior. It’s a real honour to be recognised and supported, allowing us to support and enhance our local NHS wards and departments.
