Fantastic Fundraising: February

Every month in Swansea Bay, we see so many incredible fundraising stories come to light. Sports clubs, small businesses and community groups turning personal experiences into powerful acts of generosity. Here are some of the highlights for February.
Cricket Club Give Back to NICU Community

Port Talbot Town Cricket Club kindly raised £830 for Swansea Bay Health Charity’s NICU Community Fund through Christmas club celebrations, having received their first-hand support from the NICU team at Singleton:
“A number of our members and their families have experienced first-hand the exceptional care and support provided by the NICU ward at Singleton, during what were often some of the most challenging moments of their lives.”, says Josh Tobin, spokesperson for the club.
“As a club rooted in community spirit, we wanted to give something back in gratitude for the compassion and expertise shown to our families, and to help ensure that future babies and parents can continue to benefit from the same outstanding level of care and support.”
Their fundraising is more than a donation. It’s gratitude in action, helping ensure future families will continue to receive the same exceptional care when they need it most.
Celtic Tri: £1,050 Raised in Memory of Rachel

When members of Celtic Tri lost their friend and fellow athlete Rachel Evans to cancer, they wanted to honour her in a meaningful way. Instead of flowers, donations were made to the hospital wards that cared for her. The club then matched the amount raised, proudly presenting Rachel’s family with a cheque for £1,050 oni 22nd February.
The total will be split between the chemotherapy unit and Ward 12 at Singleton Hospital – the teams who supported Rachel throughout her treatment.
The club shared on Facebook:
“Rachel was a true Wonder Woman and we miss her greatly.”
This gift ensures her strength, spirit and memory live on, helping other patients receive the same care and kindness she experienced.
Lunacy Boutique: Fashion with a Purpose

Community business Lunacy Boutique has once again shown the power of local businesses to make lasting change! Their recent Wanderlustmania fashion show, held at The Towers Hotel, raised an incredible £1,457 for the Cwtsh Natur appeal.
The appeal will help transform the garden at Neath Port Talbot Children’s Centre into a safe, sensory-rich therapy space for children with additional needs – somewhere they can explore and unwind.
Lunacy Boutique has long championed wellbeing for women and supported local causes. This year, they recognised Cwtsh Natur as a pressing local need and took action by supporting our appeal.
It was more than a glamorous evening of fashion; it was community compassion in motion!
Thank you to all of our incredible fundraisers this month! Whether you’re part of a sports club, workplace, school, or community group, your fundraising can directly support the wards, units and services that matter most to you.
