After the success of February’s walk, which raised £7,500, Cwtsh by the Coast is back this October for an autumnal promenade walk from Mumbles to Singleton Hospital. The event is proudly sponsored by Principality Building Society, Wales’ largest building society, who have been closely involved in plans to refurbish Cwtsh Clos and are helping the appeal move closer to its £160,000 target, which is just £15,000 away.

The one-hour walk will take place on 12^th October 2025, beginning at 11am outside Principality Mumbles Branch. The sponsored walk is open to all for just £5 entry, which includes a free t-shirt. Participants can opt to walk back together. Funds raised will support essential refurbishments, ensuring that the Cwtsh Clos appeal is able to help NICU families in their time of need.

In a quiet close just a stone’s throw away from the NICU, Cwtsh Clos comprises of 5 two-bed homes. These houses are a welcome retreat for those families of neonatal babies in our care who live too far away to travel back and forth. Funds raised will help transform the houses into warm, welcoming spaces for parents during some of their most difficult days.

Principality Building Society, who continue to support the appeal, spoke of their pride in backing the project.

“The houses are getting tired now and need to be made more homely. The money raised will make a tremendous difference to the families who stay here. Many come from far away, and being able to stay at Cwtsh Clos means they can be close to their babies.”

With just £15,000 left to raise, organisers are encouraging as many people as possible to sign up, lace up their walking shoes, and make this event the one that helps the appeal cross the finish line.
