3 Years of Support from John Pye Auctions Partnership

Swansea Bay Health Charity is delighted to announce a new corporate partnership with John Pye Auctions, marking a meaningful commitment to supporting local health and wellbeing across the Swansea Bay area.
John Pye Auctions was recently awarded DVLA’s Personalised Registration Auction contract and, as part of that award, will donate £2,500 each year providing vital ongoing support to projects that make a real difference to patients and families. This year, the partnership’s generous contribution will support Swansea Bay Health Charity’s Cwtsh Clos Appeal.
The Cwtsh Clos Appeal has already achieved its ambitious £160,000 fundraising target, a milestone that has helped provide welcoming, home-from-home accommodation for families with babies receiving care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Singleton Hospital. Each year, the NICU supports almost 500 babies, with families often travelling long distances from across the UK during an incredibly challenging time. The nearby two-bedroom houses offer a comforting space for parents to stay close to their babies, ensuring they can spend as much precious time together as possible.
Although the original fundraising goal has been reached, ongoing donations remain essential. Continued support will help maintain these homes, preserving the welcoming, supportive environment that means so much to families when they need it most.
This partnership reflects a long-standing relationship between DVLA and John Pye, built over more than a decade and rooted in a shared commitment to social value. Following John Pye’s successful tender to manage DVLA’s personal number plate auctions, the company has incorporated charitable giving into its contract, supporting local organisations as part of its wider social value obligations.
Health and wellbeing sit at the heart of this initiative, with Swansea Bay Health Charity among several local charities benefiting from the programme. Donations will be distributed throughout the year, ensuring sustained and reliable support.
A representative from John Pye explained:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to support Cwtsh Clos with an annual donation of £2,500 a year as part of our wider £10,000 commitment to Swansea local charities. Securing the DVLA Personal Registration Auction contract has opened the door for John Pye & Sons Ltd to give back in a bigger, more meaningful way. Cwtsh Clos makes an incredible impact every day to families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and we’re excited to play a small part in helping.”
Lewis Bradley, Swansea Bay Health Charity Manager, added:
“We are incredibly grateful to both John Pye Auctions and the DVLA for their generous support and shared commitment to the future of Cwtsh Clos. Following the visit, it was clear they could see just how important NICU accommodation is for families during such a critical time. This funding will allow us to continue to develop Cwtsh Clos, ensuring we can be there for families when they need us most.”
This new partnership is a powerful example of how collaboration between organisations can create lasting, positive change – helping to ensure that families facing some of life’s toughest moments receive the care, comfort and support they deserve.
