Sharing HOPE
Charitable funds are being used to care for the carers through the award-winning Sharing HOPE project.
Special art and creative sessions with local artists offer safe spaces for our staff to find a way of expressing feelings which often can’t be put into words.
Sharing HOPE organised a number of beach sculpture sessions for staff and their families.
This helps them to heal, recover and come out stronger, ready to provide the best care for patients.
The initiative, a joint project between the health board’s Arts in
Health and Quality Improvement teams, began as a way for staff to process the challenges and trauma they faced during the COVID pandemic.
More than 1,000 staff have engaged with the project in 18 months, taking part in a variety of activities, including sand sculpture sessions on the beach.
A number of staff also took part in a video where they recited a poem about their thoughts and feelings during the pandemic.
