Improving Hospital Environments
Charitable funds are being used to fund this Arts in Health project to make Singleton a welcoming space for patients and visitors.

Local artist, Carly has been creating natural artistic prints for Singleton Hospital’s reception makeover.
The artist uses an alter-native photographic process to produce rich cyan blue prints. Created using UV rays from the sun, the delicate X-ray-like images attempt to capture and record nature’s beauty.
When commissioned to create work for the refurbished main entrance, Carly said:
“I believe that having beautiful, stimulating or calming art in hospitals, along with connections to the outdoors and nature, are essential to promote people’s well-being and aid recovery.”
Carly uses natural materials including local plants from Swansea to create her artistic prints. Our Singleton Hospital reception area now includes these prints to make the environment more welcoming and less clinical feeling.
As the official charity for the Swansea Bay University Health Board, we’re here to provide funding for the areas in hospital that aren’t covered by basic NHS funding.
