Stepping Up for Cwtsh Clos: Swansea Community Supporting NICU Families

Yesterday, Swansea Bay Health Charity, alongside Principality and the incredible Mal Pope, took strides—both figuratively and literally—towards making a difference for families with babies in Swansea’s NICU. The charity walk called Cwtsh by the Coast, held in support of our much-loved Cwtsh Clos appeal, was not just a fundraising event; it was a powerful display of community, compassion, and generosity.
Thanks to the overwhelming kindness of our supporters, including a generous donation from Principality, entry fees, and on-the-day contributions, we raised an astonishing £7,930.82! Every penny raised from Cwtsh by the Coast will go towards enhancing Cwtsh Clos, the dedicated accommodation space for families with babies receiving neonatal care, ensuring they have a comfortable and supportive environment during challenging times.
The energy and spirit on the day were truly inspiring. Walkers of all ages came together with a shared purpose—each step a testament to the power of unity. The event was filled with laughter, determination, and heartfelt moments, reminding us that when we come together, we can achieve something truly special.
As a heartfelt acknowledgment of his ongoing support and dedication, we were honoured to present Mal Pope with the Swansea Bay Health Board – Charity Special Recognition Award. His commitment to championing our cause has been invaluable, and we are beyond grateful for his passion and generosity.
To everyone who participated, donated, or cheered us on from afar—thank you. Your kindness is transforming lives, offering hope, and providing much-needed comfort to families navigating neonatal care. Together, we are making a real difference, one step at a time.
If you missed out on the event but would still like to support the Cwtsh Clos appeal, donations are always welcome. Visit our website to learn more about how you can get involved. Let’s continue walking together towards a future filled with care, compassion, and community spirit!
