Swansea Truck Pull Returns to Support Cancer Patients

A truck weighing several tonnes will once again become the centrepiece of Swansea’s biggest community challenge, as the Swansea Truck Pull returns next Sunday (7 September) at AT Morgan & Son, Swansea.
Teams of four will put their teamwork and strength to the test by pulling the vehicle 15 metres in the fastest time, all while raising money for Swansea Bay Health Charity’s Going the Extra Mile for Cancer appeal, which supports patients at the South West Wales Cancer Centre, Singleton Hospital.
Last year’s event raised £5,500 for Swansea Bay Health Charity, and saw 13 teams compete – from groups of colleagues and gym friends to families taking on the challenge together. The organisers hope this year’s event will build on that success.

“It’s not just about strength – it’s about teamwork, determination and community spirit,” said the event organiser, Helen Morgan from AT Morgan & Son. “Everyone who takes part, and everyone who comes along on the day, is helping us raise money that will go directly to improving the lives of cancer patients in our local area.”
The day offers more than the truck pull itself, with food stalls, family activities, and charity raffles. This year, proceeds from the raffles will go towards Ospreys in the Community, another Swansea-based charity, while team fundraising will go towards the Going the Extra Mile for Cancer appeal, widening the impact of the fundraising.
Swansea Bay Health Charity said the support from participants and spectators is invaluable.
Catrin Frame from Swansea Bay Health Charity, said: “Every team that signs up makes a huge difference. The money raised through events like this allows us to fund projects that truly benefit patients and families at the cancer centre. We’re incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm shown by the Swansea community and look forward to the day!”
Team entries for Swansea Truck Pull close on Sunday 31st August, so groups are encouraged to enter soon to avoid disappointment. The Swansea Truck Pull features both regular entry and a women’s-only competition, with exciting prizes for the winners. Teams are required to raise a minimum of £200 as part of their registration, with proceeds going towards supporting cancer patients across South and West Wales. Sign up via Enthuse here.
The event is free for spectators, with organisers encouraging families, friends, and the wider community to come along and cheer on the teams.
