Another Successful Cwtsh by the Coast!

Yesterday’s Cwtsh by the Coast walk was a heart-warming success, raising an incredible £8,700, including a generous £5,000 donation from Principality Building Society.
This brings the Cwtsh Clos Appeal total to £165,000, surpassing the original £160,000 target needed to refurbish the much-loved accommodation. Any additional funds raised will now go towards maintaining the homes and replacing appliances and electronics, helping families continue to have a warm and welcoming place to stay close to their babies.
The event saw 46 adults, 10 children, and a few furry friends take part in a brisk but cheerful walk from Mumbles to Singleton Hospital. Although the morning began cold, everyone soon warmed up along the promenade, chatting and sharing stories. Many participants had their own NICU experiences, with some having stayed at Cwtsh Clos themselves.
Charity ambassador Mal Pope also joined the walk with his family. Mal has been a passionate supporter of the appeal, sharing his personal heartbreak of losing his premature baby grandson, Gulliver, to help raise awareness for the campaign. As the appeal comes to an emotional close, it was a special opportunity to thank Mal in person for his incredible support and the exposure his story has brought to the cause. Gulliver’s mum and dad also attended the event and expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in driving awareness for the campaign.

Swansea Bay Health Charity extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined, donated, and supported the event, and to Principality Building Society for their ongoing sponsorship and commitment to making Cwtsh Clos a true home from home.
Together, supporters have not only helped the appeal reach its goal but have created something that will continue to make a difference for families for years to come.
